The study is focused on a three dimensional analysis, visualization and
optimization of hydrochemical and hydrogeological parameters which leads
to an optimization of the currently applied monitoring strategies and is
relevant in the case of an environmental risk assessment. A representative
insight of a complex contamination plume is created by testing different
3d interpolation and modelling approaches. The data visualization in the
3D Visualization Centre of the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research
- UFZ offers highly innovative opportunities to interactively validate the
currently established monitoring strategies, to expand the monitoring
network, to derive optimization processes and to make risk assessment
analysis.
