Since the demands for cooling and air-conditioning are increasing worldwide, gas engine driven heat pumps (GEHP) are gaining in importance. They can be used either in heating or cooling mode. In addition to the standard application in VRF systems with split devices, they are also variably applicable in conjunction with central air-conditioning and hydro modules. The energy efficiency of the plan depends essentially on the dimensioning, the operation modes and, particularly, on the system control.
