NMR investigation of the structure and dynamics of lung surfactant extracts and related models. Dipolar recoupling was used on a lung surfactant extract designed for treatment of prematurely born infants. Specifically the effect of cholesterol concentration on such extract was investigated. Side projects were also generated from the main proposal such as the effect of persistent polutants in the environment (fluorinated alcohols) on a lung surfactant simple model as well as the investigation of phase coexistence with dipolar recoupling NMR.
