Based on a questionnaire survey, the project analyzes working time preferences and hours mismatch in China, exploring how they are related to workers' leisure tastes and well-being. Meanwhile, the effects of workers' family background, social status and personality characteristics will be researched given the empirical evidence. A comparison between Chinese and German employees will reveal the role of national cultures in this field, presenting the differences between the cultures of individualism and collectivism.
