Layer buildup and structure from single deposited droplets

This project replicates experimentally in a droplet-by-droplet manner how layers are successively built from drying droplets that contain solid material. Contour and porosity are measured incrementally during layer buildup by means of white interferometry. Salt solutions, nanosuspensions and microsuspensions are investigated for different drying conditions. Purpose of the project is to illucidate the principles of granulation and coating.
