Continuous models for the wetting of porous materials are usually oversimplified and, thus, cannot properly describe the influence of micro-structural features of the material. Goal of the project is to simulate the wetting of micro-structured porous materials in a discrete way (by pore networks) and then use the simulation results in new and superior continuous models which are easy to solve whereas preserving as more details of the structure-property relation as possible.
