The determination of the optimal balance between governmental support schemes, taxation and entrepreneurial self-reliance is challenging. A column of the knowledge-based society is the creative destruction process that is mainly driven by innovative entrepreneurs which are often in need of seed capital.
Our research wants to contribute on the question how public financial support schemes should be designed to promote a level playing field for entrepreneurial spirit and simultaneously enhance technological progress and substantiate sustainable growth. Beside this, we are empirically interested in differences of private and governmental startup financing, considering aspects like crowding-out, scouting and coaching.
We want to tackle this question by the triad of theoretical optimization, econometrical validation and experimental verification.
