Titel: RES-SIAS - Renewable Energy Sources and Sustainable Systems for Integration in the Agricultural Sector
Beschreibung: The RES-SIAS project aims to enhance the capacities of higher education institutions in Colombia and Chile to educate students for the development of modern, gender-inclusive, and low-carbon agricultural and livestock sectors. Integrating renewable energy technology into agriculture offers an environmentally friendly option to increase energy production while benefiting crops and livestock. The design, implementation, and evaluation of such agricultural sites require specific skills that are often not taught in Latin American higher education institutions. RES-SIAS adopts a multidisciplinary approach involving numerous stakeholders to symbiotically integrate energy and agriculture.
The project includes meetings and workshops with representatives from the farming and energy sectors to understand the needs and challenges of integrating renewable energy and to strengthen the of women in these sectors. Additionally, "train-the-trainer" activities for staff and students from Colombia and Chile will be held in Spain and Germany to demonstrate how demonstration sites can support teaching and skills development.
Förderzeitraum: 0.02.2024 - 31.01.2026
Fördermittelgeber: Europäische Union
Förderprogramm: ERASMUS+
Based on these experiences, the curriculum for engineering programs at rural campuses in Colombia and Chile will be analyzed and updated. RES-SIAS contributes to the internationalization of specific postgraduate programs and develops a network for exchanging ideas on integrating renewable energy into the agricultural and livestock sectors. Our project supports the development of technology-centered agricultural activities and raises awareness of new business opportunities within the local industry.
