thresholdsIPP represents a reasonable strategy for the plant protection in the future. Decision-support systems (expert system) advice the user whether a control of pests, i.e. wheat blossom midges is neccesary or not. The theoretical bases are demage thresholds and epidemological orientated thresholds. To apply these systems, quick and exact methods of diagnoses are required (pheromone traps).
