The dissertation examines the emergence of corruption issues in investment arbitration. The analysis begins with a critique of international definitions of corruption as derived from international and multinational conventions as well as influential domestic law governing corruption, and addresses the applicability of these standards in the global context. The analysis further considers recent investment arbitration decisions, arbitral tribunals' consideration of corruption allegations from an evidentiary standpoint, and the need for a more universal standard to create uniformity in application in investment arbitration.
