Bimodal hearing of the acoustical space

In bimodally aided listeners with a cochlear implant on one and a hearing aid on the other ear, the signal processing of the two different systems causes a delay mismatch between the two ears. Since interaural time differences (ITD) are an important cue for sound localization, the delay mismatch leads to a poorer localization ability in these listeners. The aim of the present project is to investigate, if a compensation of this delay mismatch leads to an improved spatial hearing.
